Ethan

Ethan

This guy is simply amazing! We were contacted by another rescue in Western North Dakota when this guy was found dragging his back end and facing euthanasia. We decided he deserved a shot. When he got to us we discovered quickly that he had a broken spine. We rushed him to a neurology specialist and was told that he would not and did not have a quality of life.
We just couldn’t accept that for Ethan. He is one of the happiest pups in the world. He loves everyone and everything he meets. We continued to keep him rested and looked for other options. And slowly on his own he started to regain function. We got him in to see our trusted Neurologist and did an MRI. Unfortunately his spinal cord was completely severed. Fortunately he has regained reflexes in his back legs which help him get around and even stand while eating/drinking.
Ethan will never walk again… but that doesn’t mean that he cannot live a full life! He gets around amazingly well in his cart. He loves to go for walks with his foster siblings. He also gets around just fine without his cart when he is inside or on the grass. He loves playing with toys and he LOVES nothing more than cuddles!
Ethan gets along with all other animals and people!
He is fecal incontinent so a diaper may be helpful when he is inside. He stool is small and easy to clean up. He has some control over his urine but when he gets excited he does happy pee ? Dogs with paralysis in the rear end can be predisposed to bladder infections so his owner will need to keep an eye out.
The boy have beating all the odds and he deserves an amazing home. He weighs about 40# and that is probably how big he will always be. He has the voice of a husky and the heart and soul of the best of all the dog breeds ?
Adoption fee is $200
