Apache/Huey

By Adoptable Cats No Comments
Meet Apache and Huey!
This sweet, senior, bonded pair are looking for their forever home. Apache, an old lady of 16, and Huey, an old guy of 13 are so adorable. Apache loves to snuggle and play in the water. Huey loves to find a soft bed and sunshine to sleep in. Both are in good health for their age. They are currently in a foster home with other cats and a small dog and do well.
They came to use when a disabled veteran was unable to continue to care for them. They were both very loved and the previous owner would love continued updates if possible as she had them their whole life.
Both Apache and Huey are Spayed/Neutered, declawed and up to date on vaccinations/bloodwork.
Adoption applications available at rpaw.org
Adoption fee for the senior pair is $100

Barney

By Adoptable Dogs No Comments
We cannot believe that Barney is still looking for a forever home!
This boy is 10 months old now and would love spend what is left of puppyhood with a family
Barney came to us from our friends at Turtle Mountain Animal Rescue when they took him in as a stray and he had more medical needs that they were equipped for. We were happy to help, as we always try to help a fellow rescue in need. They saved his life and kept him happy and healthy until he could get to us.
Once he arrived, we made sure he was able to see our Neurologist right away. They were able to determine that he had a parasite called Neospora that attacks muscle tissue. Eventually, if left untreated it goes to the nervous system, and it can cause serious issues including death. We were able to get him started on treatment right away. Unfortunately, the effects were too severe on one of his rear legs. We tried physical therapy but ultimately he needed to have it amputated. The parasite did damage on the remaining leg, and he ultimately did a couple of months of physical therapy to strengthen the one remaining rear leg. Huge shout out to his Physical Therapist who also fostered him during that time. It was life changing!
He then joined our friends at 2nd Chance to Shine to help him learn manners and be able to be socialized with other dogs in the key time in development. They have done some amazing work with him as well, and he is now a very well-rounded pup.
It honestly took a village to save this boy, and we know his forever home is out there. He can get around just like any other dog, he just looks a little different doing it. He will need to remain lean so that his remaining rear leg doesn’t have to carry extra weight.
If you are interested in meeting Barney, please fill out an application on rpaw.org
His adoption fee is $300.

Val

By Adoptable Dogs No Comments

Before the holidays, we were made aware of a dog that was placed in a garbage bag and thrown out of the window of a car onto the side of a freeway. Thankfully, the people behind the car stopped when they saw the bag moving. When they realized it was a terrified, malnourished dog, they jumped into action and got her to safety.
Fast-forward, Val is living the good life in her foster home! She has gained weight and her wounds have healed. She is now ready to find her forever home!
Valerie is a young gal with a heart as big as her beautiful smile. Since joining her foster home, she’s grown in so many ways. Valerie is a quick learner and has been excelling in her basic obedience training. She’s also discovered the joy of toys and loves playing independently—but her greatest joy comes from spending time with her humans.
Affection is Valerie’s love language! Whether it’s snuggling under the covers at bedtime or on the couch, playing, going for walks, or training, she thrives on human connection. She even does amazing in the car and enjoys being by your side wherever the adventure takes you.
Valerie has limited exposure to cats but would do best in a home without them. She’s met a variety of dogs and prefers the company of her humans only. It does not mean that she cannot go out in public. It just means after the trauma she has been through likely from a young age, she just means she would like to find a homebody that just wants to hang out with her.
Valerie is the perfect combination of beauty and brains, and she’s ready to be someone’s devoted companion.
If you’re ready to treat Valerie like the princess she is, she’ll reward you with a lifetime of love, loyalty, and snuggles.
Adoption fee is $200
