Nick Torres

By December 31, 2024 January 2nd, 2025 Adoptable Dogs

Nick Torres came to RPAW back in June. When he found us he was in tough shape. After extensive medical care we found out he had Mengioencephnelitits, which is inflammation of the brain and surrounding tissues and fluids. With lots of love and medical treatment, this sweet boy is finally ready to start his furever with a new family just in time for the holidays.

Due to Nick’s medical history, he will need a family that can work with his special medical needs. Nick is mostly blind and fully deaf. He seems to see light shadows. His foster mom finds it absolutely incredible that this doesn’t slow him down a bit from trying to be a normal pup. He navigates the house free range currently with supervision and is always on the prowl looking for toys to play with or a soft spot to take a quick snooze. When he is not playing chase or wrestling with the other pups in the home he is looking for snuggles. He does really well getting around. He uses his feet to feel around his surroundings and is a quick learner.

Nick’s only other medical need is long-term daily medication as he is on a steroid. He is not yet fully potty trained, being on a steroid makes him thirsty which makes him have to pee more but he uses potty pads and goes every time he is outside. Nick is around a year old and would love another small pup in the house to bond with. He currently lives with cats as well and does fine with them. He has not been around children but his foster mom thinks he would do fine with older children in the home.

Adoption fee is $300
